James Stewart's 3 'Secrets' to his Success

I was hanging out at Loretta Lynn's National Championship in
2004 helping some of my students get on the podium (one of
my students, Matt Boni, actually won a national championship
that year).

James Stewart happened to be hanging out too ? doing some
exhibitions. So, I asked him for an interview on the mental
game of motocross because I am working on a book on racing
psychology.

At the time, he was rather paranoid about doing interviews
because the media was branding him as a cocky son of a gun
He was coming off too confident for some people. This is
when he was winning everything in the 125 MX Series and
kicking everyone's but.

James asked, "What is the interview for?" I made the mistake
of telling him I wanted to talk about confidence and focus
in racing! He said he did not want to talk about confidence
because some people thought he was too cocky!

Not really understanding my mission, he also said he did not
want to give away his 'secrets' to his success! After all he
was winning every moto at the time.

The next day, I saw him again at the track. I told him that
I knew his secrets. James said, "What are they?" I said,
"If I guess three mental game 'secrets' to your success,
will I get the interview?? He said to give it a try.

His three "secrets" I said were:
-HAVING FUN
-CONFIDENCE
-TRUST.
I described what I meant by these concepts.

"You are VERY close, but not exactly," James said.

Right! I knew these were essential mental qualities for success
in motocross and the qualities that he displays in races.

You gotta have fun with your racing, you must be confident
that you will kick but, and you have to let it happen and
trust your ability.

If you want to learn more about how to harness these
?secrets' to success, I have a many options available
including personal coaching (in-person or via the phone)
from anywhere in the world. Contact me right away to
improve your mental abilities for success in motocross.
